Set up MIDI with Altitude in Logic Pro

MIDI Scale

  1. Create an Audio track with your vocal.
  2. Create an Instrument track. Add Altitude as an instrument, (found under AU MIDI-controlled Effects > Klevgrand > Altitude). Turn on MIDI Scale
  3. Side Chain your Audio track with your voice. Mute the Audio track to not get double signals.

Play

  1. Create an Audio track with your vocal.
  2. Create an Instrument track. Add Altitude as an instrument (found under AU MIDI-controlled Effects > Klevgrand > Altitude). Turn on the Play module
  3. Side Chain your Audio track with your voice. Mute the Audio track to not get double signals.

MIDI Scale and Play at the same time

  1. Create an Audio track with your vocal. Let’s call this TRACK 1.
  2. Create an Instrument track. Let’s call this TRACK 2. 
Add Altitude as an instrument (found under AU MIDI-controlled Effects > Klevgrand > Altitude). 
Turn on Input monitoring on the Instrument track. 
In Altitude, turn on the Play module and MIDI Scale. 
This tracks MIDI will control the Play module.
  3. Side Chain your Audio track (TRACK 1). 
Mute the Audio track (TRACK 1) to not get double signals.
  4. Create a third track; an External MIDI track. Let’s call this TRACK 3. !!! SKRIV HUR OCH VAD SOM SKA VA ICHECKAT
Set its MIDI Out Channel to 2. 
This tracks MIDI will control the MIDI Scale.
  5. On the Instrument track (TRACK 2), set ”Internal MIDI in” to Instrument Input > External Instrument (note, not the Altitude track).
  6. On the Instrument track (TRACK 2), in Altitude > Settings, set Play MIDI channel to 1 and Scale MIDI channel to 2.
  7. Done! 
Now the MIDI from TRACK 2 controls the Play module, and the MIDI from TRACK 3 controls the Scale module.
